Facilities Engineering Technician - Fire Alarm Systems

Job Description

Summary of Role:

Skilled Engineering Technicians to work in the facilities organization. Tasks will include but are not limited to the continuous operation and maintenance of life safety systems that support manufacturing. This technician will be responsible for proper system operation, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and schedules, and responding to and troubleshooting system alarms and life safety controls. Primary work activities will be related to system and equipment maintenance, with some tasks related to control system programming and alarm response. Technician must be able to work in a team environment with a focus on customer satisfaction. Strong communication skills and schedule flexibility are important as weekend coverage will be required.

Responsibilities
  • Position is for a part-time schedule consisting of 24 hours a week with an 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM daytime schedule.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities and visual inspection tours.
  • Respond to error messages or trouble alarms within the systems and/or equipment.
  • Upgrade and maintain central alarm system operations.
  • Assist the site fire alarm technician with annual life safety duties.
  • The ability to recognize and respond to system and equipment malfunctions on a solo basis.
  • Ability to cross-train facility employees with the central fire alarm system for the EFK site.
  • Utilize computers to document and communicate system status for all site operation systems, including shift logs to collaborate across all shifts.
  • Maintain the headend monitoring servers which contain the Screen Database (SDB) for the purpose of monitoring and dispatching alarms. This includes routine programming of additions and deletions, synchronization of databases, backups, and archiving system data for disaster recovery.
  • Interact with customers such as Engineering, Maintenance, and Manufacturing.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are required. Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, new team members as needed based on assignment, while able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in an effective manner.
  • Able to operate computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of statistical data.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures, read facilities building and sub-system prints to complete tasks and required documentation.
  • Act as the manufacturers’ representative in maintaining, designing (where applicable), and programming on the below fire panels to the building owners, general contractors, and electrical contractors on a routine basis. Includes maintaining all fire panel software and site documentation.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner, supporting all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Technical/associate degree in science, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or a related discipline, or Military Equivalent.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Vesda Air Sampling smoke detectors certificate.
  • Multi-net Manager Software training in regard to ECAMS.
  • Semiconductor, Mechanical, Electrical, and I&C / PLC experience.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of semiconductor processing, process equipment, and a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with software applications: Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control methodologies & systems.

Hourly: onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $35.00 to $40.00, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. We also offer a competitive benefits package.
