Job summary

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician (Facilities)-Journeyman to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects. The role is on-site at Patuxent River, MD, with a 2:30 PM–12:00 PM shift after a 3‑month training period.

You will work with Hangar 144, AATF, and ASIL facilities and support Test Project Engineers’ needs. Qualifications include a HS diploma, 6 years’ experience, aircraft experience, hand tools, and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift (2:30 PM to 12:00 PM) after a 3‑month training period.
  • 3 years of experience working on aircraft.
  • Experience using hand tools to support team builds.
  • Experience working with computers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work overtime when required by testing schedule.
  • Ability to be proactive and seek out tasking to support team.
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Minimum clearance required to apply: N/A

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an Engineering Technician in the E3 group supporting facilities.
  • Provides operations and maintenance support for Hangar 144, AATF and ASIL.
  • Assists with coordinating, scheduling and providing for Test Project Engineers’ aircraft, facility use and SE needs.
  • Delivers GSE to the Fleet Readiness Center for maintenance.
  • Schedules and obtains GSE from FRC for project support.
  • Maintains fueling ground support equipment.
  • Assists in aircraft fueling operations.
  • Purges aircraft and connects/operates GSE carts for aircraft operation.
  • Operates government equipment such as forklift, man lift, tug and other equipment.
  • Assists with crane rigging and conducts facilities maintenance.
