Position: Facilities Engineering Team Lead (REMOTE - TRAVEL)

Location: Remote (Travel up to 50%)

Job Description

Chinook Systems is seeking a Facilities Engineering Team Lead to manage building systems projects from inception to completion. This role involves overseeing Operations and Maintenance, Commissioning, Facility Optimization, Design Build, Turnkey Upgrades, Building Controls, and Systems integration, with varying project sizes and complexities.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary client contact, ensuring clear communication of project requirements, status, and schedule.
  • Lead and support project teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Travel as needed for project deployment, both domestically and internationally, with durations up to one year.
  • Coordinate remotely with dispersed project teams.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and financials.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Interpret technical specifications, drawings, and work statements.
  • Foster collaboration across technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and communicate project updates effectively.
  • Address client concerns and identify opportunities for additional services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, with at least 3 years of relevant experience. An additional 5 years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience with MEP project management, field engineering, or related roles.
  • Knowledge of commercial facilities systems such as lighting, HVAC, building controls, power distribution, and emergency power.
  • Proven project management experience in building systems industry.
  • Proficiency with project management software.
  • Willingness to travel and adapt to changing requirements.

Citizenship and Security Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for up to Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret or higher security clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk construction sites, carry up to 25 lbs., climb stairs/ladders, work outdoors/in confined spaces, and wear PPE.
