Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority seeks a Facilities Engineering Manager to oversee NYCT Subway facility construction projects not managed by MTA C&D. You will manage multi-million-dollar capital projects, ensure compliance with NYS Building Code and NYCT standards, and respond to facility emergencies around the clock.

Compensation

$117,510-$146,888 (Grade CON 005)

Position Summary

Provides oversight of NYCT Subway facility construction projects not managed by MTA C&D, including engineering review of active MTA C&D projects. Manages multiple multi-million-dollar capital construction projects involving facility rehabilitation using both in-house and contracted labor. Oversees all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, design, scheduling, construction, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with NYS Building Code and NYCT standards. Requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, and structural systems and the ability to respond to facility emergencies and critical incidents on a 24/7 basis, as needed.

Responsibilities

Manages and oversees multiple multi-million-dollar capital construction projects involving the rehabilitation of NYCT Subway facilities across owned and leased properties. Leads projects not managed by MTA C&D and performs engineering reviews of active MTA C&D construction projects. Directs all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, analysis, design, development of technical specifications, construction oversight, and reporting. Reviews design drawings to ensure compliance with New York State Building Code requirements and NYCT facility standards. Applies expertise in mechanical, electrical, and structural systems to support successful project delivery and responds to facility emergencies and critical incidents on a 24/7 basis, as needed.

Education And Experience

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution in architecture,engineering,or a related field.Eight(8) years of related experience andtwo(2) years must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or a satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

Desired Skills

NYS PE License preferred.Experience conducting site inspections, documenting site conditions and construction activities, coordinating with end users and contractors, and responding to contractor requests for information (RFIs). Proficient in AutoCAD with a strong understanding of construction methodologies, building materials, finishes, and furniture specifications. Knowledge of capital design and construction processes.
