Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Building Engineer to provide routine and emergency engineering, maintenance and repair services at assigned locations to ensure a positive member experience.

You will lead facility technicians, coordinate with vendors, and maintain preventive maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems, while ensuring compliance with building codes and YMCA policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day assignments to facility technicians and coordinates with vendors.
• Tracks work orders and documents results in the maintenance system.
• Performs routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on building systems.
• Assists with capital project plans and renovations as required.
• Keeps abreast of safety standards, regulations and building codes.
• Troubleshoots equipment issues and implements reliable, cost-effective solutions.
