Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Facilities Services Manager to lead planning, organizing, and controlling the engineering services operations within the hospital complex. The role focuses on achieving operating efficiency while staying within budget.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of hospital operations and maintenance management experience, a Bachelor’s degree preferred, and licensure in stationary engineering, electrical, HVAC, or related trades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Licensure in stationary engineering, electrical, HVAC or related trade preferred.
• 3–5 years of hospital operations and maintenance management experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA, JCAHO, NFPA standards.
• Experience with electrical power, HVAC, and medical gas systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate operations and implement continuous process improvements.
• May serve as Hospital Safety Officer per the Hospital’s Safety Manual.
• Control costs and ensure expenses meet or exceed budget; forecast needs and take corrective action.
• Budget responsibilities up to $2 million operational and up to $1 million in capital expenditures.
• Establish scope of services and develop annual implementation plans aligned with strategic objectives.
• Project management of capital projects up to $500,000.
• Gather data, produce analyses, and present clear recommendations.
• Ensure safe care to patients, staff and visitors within policy and budget constraints.
• Promote staff development and serve as mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
• Model service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences.
