Job summary

Mercury Marine, Fond du Lac, WI, within Brunswick Corporation, offers a Facilities Engineering Intern role focused on hands-on experience with HVAC systems, electrical power distribution, energy management programs, and building improvement projects.

You will assist with project planning, data analysis, contractor coordination, and building systems optimization in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This internship runs May–December 2027 with a 40+ hour work week.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Energy Management, or a related field.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in facility engineering, building systems, energy management, and infrastructure projects.
• Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits
• Availability to work full-time (40+ hours per week) during May–December 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support HVAC improvement projects including equipment assessments, system upgrades, performance monitoring, and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Assist with electrical infrastructure projects involving power distribution systems, lighting upgrades, backup power systems, and facility modernization efforts.
• Collect, analyze, and report on utility consumption, energy performance, and sustainability metrics.
• Assist with planning, tracking, and documentation of facility capital improvement projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support project execution.
• Participate in facility assessments, operational audits, and building system evaluations.
• Maintain facility drawings, equipment records, project documentation, and engineering data.
• Support environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives related to facility systems and infrastructure.
• Assist with workplace and facility improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, and employee experience.
• Perform other special projects and duties as assigned.
