Job Description

As a Facilities Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing our organization's physical facilities to ensure operational efficiency and safety. You will apply your engineering expertise to support facility maintenance, infrastructure improvements, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Woonsocket, Rhode Island location on an On-site work schedule.

In this role, you will impact our manufacturing equipment and building systems by providing technical support and engineering solutions that enhance the reliability and performance of our facilities. Your contributions will help maintain a safe, efficient, and sustainable working environment that supports our business objectives.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, optimize, and improve facility infrastructure and utility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems, to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.


• Lead and support facility-related projects, including capital improvements, equipment installations, system upgrades, shutdown activities, and utility tie-ins.


• Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs, coordinating repairs, replacements, and upgrades to maximize asset reliability and performance.


• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, and building code requirements through routine inspections, audits, and maintenance activities.


• Manage contractors and service providers, including contractor qualification/pre-approval processes, work oversight, and verification of safe, high-quality execution.


• Administer facilities related purchasing activities, including requisitions, purchase orders, vendor quotations, and budget-conscious procurement of materials and services.


• Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, repair, and engineering documentation, including procedures, records, and technical specifications.


• Analyze facility performance and drive continuous improvement, energy conservation, and cost-reduction initiatives.


• Coordinate site services and facility readiness activities, including snow removal, shift-start building preparation, and emergency responses such as fire or burglar alarms.


• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Maintenance, HSE, and Operations teams to support business objectives, operational excellence, and facility reliability.


• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to maintenance personnel and junior technicians.

Qualifications

You Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics


• 3+ years of experience supporting facilities, maintenance, utilities, or manufacturing operations.


• Experience with facility systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, compressed air, and building infrastructure.


• Experience leading or supporting facility improvement projects and equipment installations.


• Knowledge of OSHA, environmental, and building code requirements.


• Experience managing contractors and coordinating external service providers.


• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.


• Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.


• Ability to support planned shutdowns, facility emergencies, and occasional off-shift activities as required.
