Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking a Facilities Engineer to ensure the reliability and safety of the hospital environment. The role involves monitoring, operating, and maintaining building systems and equipment to support delivery of patient care.

This Full-time Day position requires an apprenticeship or equivalent training with relevant electrical licensing and maintenance certifications. Facilities maintenance experience strongly preferred; drivers may be required in some situations.

Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Stationary engineer apprenticeship or Electrician apprenticeship and equivalent training or work experience.
• Upon hire: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving.

• The Facilities Engineer supports the physical environment required for the delivery of health care services and is responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of the facility by monitoring, operating, and maintaining building systems and equipment.

Education

Stationary engineer apprenticeship or Electrician apprenticeship and equivalent training or work experience

EPA 608 Universal Refrigeration Technician certification

ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Maintenance certification

OHA Backflow Assembly Tester certification

Oregon Boiler License - Class 2 or higher
