Job summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into SpinCo, an independent publicly traded company, planned for Q1 2027. The role will support SpinCo, focusing on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers.

The “Facilities Engineer” will be based in Columbia, South Carolina reporting to Facilities Manager. The position drives a culture of excellence and guides waste removal using lean and six sigma

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• AutoCAD experience required; SolidWorks experience preferred.
• 3+ years of industry work experience from manufacturing companies (automotive, electronics or medical device, or similar).
• Continuous Improvement project management experience, including facilitation and training experience.
• Must be able to guide direct projects based on business initiatives and customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Research facility products or equipment specifications and performance requirements to define designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
• Research engineering proposals, process requirements and related technical data pertaining to industrial facilities machinery and equipment design.
• Defines feasibility of designing new plant facilities equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning and other technical and economic factors.
• Provides technical facilities information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.
• Compiles and research facilities research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Guides projects and project teams.
