Job summary

Lam Research Corporation seeks a seasoned Facilities Engineer to plan and oversee facility changes for plant, lab, and production equipment layouts. You’ll work with architects, manage design reviews, and lead cost estimates while ensuring compliance with schedules and specifications.

You will drive negotiations, coordinate tool installations, and support gas system startups to achieve process qualification on new modules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years managing complex projects in high-tech industry.

Responsibilities

• Plan facilities changes for plant, lab, and production equipment layouts.
• Manage design drawings and lead design reviews (pipes, electricity, exhaust, gas, chemicals).
• Prepare and solicit bid packages and contracts for construction and facilities.
• Estimate design costs including equipment, labor, materials and related items.
• Inspect construction to ensure adherence to drawings and schedules.
• Participate in tool installation design reviews and outsourced designs.
• Assist startup of gas systems and process equipment to reach qualification.
• Drive cost reductions via competitive bidding and contracts management.
• Align and report weekly with Lab ops customers.
• Present in SIPP, operation, ITP, and ETS meetings for tool installations.
• Coordinate with city inspectors for Hazmat/Fire.

As project demand continues to grow, the team delivers critical construction and infrastructure initiatives while building internal capabilities that reduce reliance on contract labor, preserve institutional knowledge, and strengthen long-term project execution and operational support.The impact you’ll makeAs a Facilities Engineer at Lam, with your project management expertise, you will plan and oversee facility changes for plant, tool installations, and production equipment layouts. You will work with architects to develop design criteria, layouts, and prepare contracts. You will inspect construction and installation progress to ensure adherence with established specifications and schedules. Your focus on performance specifications required to meet unique operating conditions contributes to the efficiency and compliance of Lam's state-of-the-art facilities.What you’ll doPlans facilities changes for plant, lab, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations.Manages the EOR completion of design drawings and leads the design reviews (point of connection of pipe, electricity, exhaust, specialty gas, chemical supply equipment, etc.).Prepares and solicits bid packages and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation , and other related costs.Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.Participates in tool installation design reviews ensuring outsourced design firms design to established Lam protocols and expectations.Assists in startup of gas systems and process equipment to reach process qualification on new process modules.Drives cost reduction on projects through competitive bidding, negotiations, and contracts management.Aligns and reports weekly with the Lab ops customers.Presents in the SIPP, operation, ITP review, and ETS meetings associated with tool installations.Coordinates with city inspectors for Hazmat/Fire .Who we’re looking forBachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering plus a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or Master’s degree plus a minimum of 6 years of related experience.Eight years' experience managing complex projects or programs in the high-technology industry.Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with customers.Demonstrated ability to deliver results within a matrixed organization.Creative thinking, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead a team in solving problems.MS Office – Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Bluebeam.CAPM or PMP certification.Our commitmentWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
