Job summary

Insight Global is assisting a north Phoenix-based semiconductor manufacturer in hiring a Sr. HVAC Facilities Engineer.

The role oversees design, installation, commissioning, and operation of HVAC systems for a new high-tech factory, including cleanroom air systems, exhaust, and solvent abatement. You will ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with cleanroom standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC engineering (design and operations).
• Strong understanding of HVAC and exhaust systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with cleanroom standards and energy efficiency practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, commission, and operate HVAC systems for a semiconductor facility.
• Ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency of HVAC systems.
• Maintain compliance with cleanroom and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for system retrofits and new builds.
• Collaborate with project teams across design, installation, and commissioning phases.

This person will be responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of HVAC systems for a new high-tech factory. This includes cleanroom air systems, exhaust systems, solvent exhaust abatement, and office HVAC systems. The role ensures optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with cleanroom and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC engineering (design and operations), preferably in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, exhaust systems, and their controls.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with chilled water systems, cooling towers, and cleanroom standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and Bluebeam.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Professional Engineering License (PE) is a plus.
• Experience in design, construction, commissioning, and start-up preferred.
