Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–7 years of facilities engineering in semiconductor/high-tech.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom utilities, critical infrastructure, BMS/SCADA, P&IDs and control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, operate and maintain critical facility systems to support uninterrupted production.
  • Plan and manage facility upgrades, expansions, and retrofits.
  • Review designs and specifications for facility systems and select HVAC/electrical equipment based on performance and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and local environmental health and safety standards.
  • Develop preventive maintenance programs and improve documentation and SOPs.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to support the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of critical facilities systems within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring uninterrupted production, maintaining environmental and safety standards, and supporting capacity expansion projects.

This Job Is For You If:

  • You can monitor, operate, and maintain critical facility systems (e.g., HVAC, CDA, DI water, UPW, vacuum, gas distribution, exhaust, electrical systems/distribution, and wastewater treatment systems)
  • You can troubleshoot and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
  • You can ensure equipment operates at optimal performance levels to meet cleanroom requirements and manufacturing demands
  • You can plan and manage facility infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and retrofits
  • You can collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • You can review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for facility systems
  • You can evaluate and select HVAC and/or electrical equipment based on performance, efficiency, and reliability
  • You can ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, local standards)
  • You can conduct routine inspections and improve preventive maintenance programs
  • You can support sustainability and energy conservation initiatives
  • You can utilize Building Management Systems (BMS) and SCADA to monitor and optimize facility operations
  • You can analyze system data to improve reliability, efficiency, and capacity planning
  • You can ensure compliance with ISO cleanroom standards and facility environmental requirements
  • You can maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, maintenance records, and project reports
  • You can develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • You can identify opportunities to improve system performance, reduce costs, and enhance operational excellence

Job Requirements

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3 - 7 years of facilities engineering experience in semiconductor manufacturing or a related high-tech industry.
  • Technical knowledge of cleanroom utilities, critical infrastructure systems, BMS/SCADA systems, P&IDs, and control systems.

Nice to Have:

  • Project management experience preferred (PMP or equivalent certification a plus).
  • Familiarity with SEMI standards preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 / 14001, or energy efficiency initiatives preferred.
  • PE license or EIT certification preferred.
