Job summary

Applicants should have a Stationary Engineer apprenticeship or equivalent electrical training and hold relevant state licenses. A valid driver's license is required. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Stationary Engineer apprenticeship or equivalent electrical apprenticeship and training.
  • Upon hire: National Electrician Supervisor License, Journeyman License, Limited Maintenance License, or Limited Building Maintenance License issued by the State/County/City Trade License Authority.
  • Valid driver’s license; proof of auto insurance may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day oversight of all building system operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures, and coordinate repairs with vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Respond to critical system failures and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

Facilities Engineer

Location: Providence Newberg Medical Center, Newberg, OR

Schedule: Full‑time, Variable

The Facilities Engineer supports the physical environment required for the delivery of health care services, and is responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of the facility by monitoring, operating, and maintaining building systems and equipment. The engineer must possess knowledge of systems, processes, and procedures necessary to perform the duties of a stationary engineer and maintenance electrician, and must continuously update knowledge of new technologies used in the field.

Responsibilities

Provide day‑to‑day oversight of all building system operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems. Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures, and coordinate repairs with vendors. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations. Respond to critical system failures and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of a Stationary Engineer apprenticeship or equivalent electrical apprenticeship and training.
  • Upon hire: National Electrician Supervisor License, Journeyman License, Limited Maintenance License, or Limited Building Maintenance License issued by the State/County/City Trade License Authority.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Computerized Building Management Systems (DDC) or equivalent work experience.
  • EPA 608 Universal Refrigeration Technician certification.
  • ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Maintenance certification.
  • OHA Backflow Assembly Tester certification.
  • Oregon Boiler License – Class 2 or higher.
  • Three years of experience in central plant operations and maintenance.
  • Experience operating and maintaining fire alarm systems.

Pay Range

$31.71 – $49.22 per hour (base pay). Additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses.
