Position Description:

• The candidate will be an employee of the Fiber Plant Facilities Department. The person shall provide technical support in the area of Facilities support equipment.
• Provide support in the manufacturing of optical fiber with a focus on facilities management.
• Compliant with all requirements in 40 CFR 261-265 concerning hazardous wastes, including labeling, storage, and transportation from production areas to Waste Storage Pad.
• Work with the technical staff to resolve daily issues.
• Support the commissioning of new equipment for production.
• Ensure all products meet requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems.
• Comply with all safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Education Required:

• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering experience.
• Minimum three years of experience.

Experience Required:

• Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, promptly.

Preferred:

• Experience in fiber optic manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience with chiller maintenance and optimization.
• Experience with pollution control equipment (baghouse, scrubber, etc.).
• Experience with compressor maintenance and optimization.
• Experience with high-purity piping and gas delivery systems.
• Experience with fire detection equipment.
• Experience with power distribution systems and UPS systems.
