Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT is seeking a Facility Engineer responsible for maintaining all center assets to an acceptable quality standard and ensuring safe, efficient operation.
Responsibilities include preventive maintenance across HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and building systems; coordinating with Chief/Assistant Chief of Engineering; supervising outside contractors when needed; and adhering to safety guidelines and energy conservation practices.
This position is responsible for maintaining all the Connecticut Convention Center and Adriaens Landing assets to an acceptable quality standard.
Always provides professional and courteous guest service.
Responds to emergency situations and is prepared to assist as needed and is on call 24/7.
Working varying hours with limited notice during snowstorms for snow removal as required
Coordinates with the Chief and Assistant Chief of Engineering, Engineer Supervisor to ensure projects are completed according to specifications and allotted timelines.
Follow building safety and OSHA guidelines and use proper PPE as required.
Handle repairs and preventative maintenance to include HVAC, lighting, plumbing, kitchen equipment, painting and carpentry and all relevant building, grounds and repairs related to facility/grounds assignments.
Conduct routine inspections of the premises and equipment.
Follows building guidelines for energy conservation standards for electrical, HVAC, and water utilities.
Ability to operate independently the convention center facilities operating software systems.
Overseeing outside retained contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
Attends weekly staff meetings and all meetings requested by the Chief and Assistant Chief of Engineering.
Ensures clean and organized work and storage areas.
Maintains cleanliness of all building and complex areas and areas assigned by the ownership (CRDA) and the General Manager.
Ensures all mechanized equipment and Engineer equipment in general is cleaned and always maintained after each use.
