Job Title: Facilities Engineer
Duration: 06 months with possible extension
Location: Durham, NC 27703
Shift: Normal
Pay Rate: $44.54/hr. on W2

Job Description:

Our client is a leading, clinical-stage gene therapy company founded in 2001, focusing on neuromuscular, central nervous system, cardiovascular, and metabolic diseases. They are currently conducting clinical trials for Pompe disease, Parkinson's disease, and congestive heart failure.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of facilities across multiple sites within the RTP Hub, including managing systems such as power, HVAC, cold storage, water systems, air compressors, vacuum pumps, and other utilities.
• Perform daily site inspections to verify operational status of critical systems and utilities.
• Monitor and troubleshoot building management systems (BMS), investigate issues, and follow procedures for resolution.
• Document findings, report issues, and assist in executing solutions as assigned.
• Participate in team meetings, project planning, and updates on project progress.
• Support project delivery, monitor progress, and provide recommendations.
• Manage service requests and coordinate with internal customers on complex issues.
• Collaborate with departments such as EH&S, QA, Lab Operations, and Capital Projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety initiatives and assist with equipment setup in labs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA).
• 4-7 years of experience in engineering or facilities roles.
• Background in mechanical or electrical engineering is a plus.
• Experience with building utilities, HVAC, and BMS systems.
• Experience working in pharmaceutical laboratories preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools; familiarity with CMMS, CAD, and design programs is a plus.
• Self-motivated, organized, able to work independently and in teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
