Job Summary

To support our extraordinary team who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Facilities Engineer located in Austin, TX.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Engineer role applies engineering principles to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes used in processing or manufacturing products.

Shift: G Shift - 6am to 6pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday

What a typical day looks like:
  • Researches facility products or equipment specifications and performance requirements to define designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
  • Researches engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to industrial facilities machinery and equipment design.
  • Defines feasibility of designing new plant facilities equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
  • Provides technical facilities information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations affecting long-range plant and product engineering planning.
  • Compiles and researches facilities data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
  • Studies engineering and technical publications to stay abreast of industry developments.
  • Uses computer-aided engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks.
  • Guides projects and project teams.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, related degree, or equivalent experience and training.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of related experience.
  • Matter expertise in areas such as clean rooms, walk-in coolers & freezers, RO/DI water systems, waste neutralization, compressed gas distribution systems, vacuum systems, process chillers, and non-clean utilities.
  • Experience in manufacturing plant construction within a cGMP industry, preferably in Medical Devices or Pharma.
  • Facilities engineering construction experience in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Process) disciplines.
  • Experience with Fault/Root Cause Analysis and Review (FRACAS).
  • Knowledge of utilities such as steam, cooling media, heating media, water systems, and compressed air.
