Job summary

Stetson University seeks an experienced Electrician to perform skilled tasks in operation, diagnosis, and repair of electrical equipment and systems. The role requires evaluating electrical systems, diagnosing issues, and recommending repairs to ensure reliable facilities.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, installation and repair of motors, generators, and control systems up to 480V, and supporting renovation projects while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; journeyman license mandatory.
• Ability to read and understand wiring and control diagrams.
• Diagnostic tools with differing levels of complexity.
• Five years hands-on experience in operation, maintenance, and renovation of electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance complaints and troubleshoot problems.
• Perform preventive maintenance per manuals and standards.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical motors, generators, and control systems up to 480V.
• Support small projects and assist in upgrades or replacements.
• Maintain and repair wiring in existing facilities and during renovations.
• Respond to power outage issues and diagnose problems promptly.
• Work with control devices, UPS, and related equipment.
• Lift up to 100 pounds; work indoors or outdoors in extreme conditions.
• Prepare time and material estimates as required.
• Ensure NEC compliance and safety standards in all work.
