Job summary

West Virginia University is seeking an Electrician II to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical systems across Health Sciences Center facilities in Morgantown. You will work under the Electrical Manager/Lead, handling circuits, conduits, buss ducts, and protective devices with voltages from 24V to 480V and beyond as trained.

The role emphasizes safety, precise documentation, and collaboration with multi-craft teams, including emergency response and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of electrical experience at journeyman level or higher.
• Completion of an associate degree as an electrical technician.
• Completion of a 2-year accredited vocational electrical program.
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair electrical systems and equipment across facilities.
• Work with high and low voltage systems up to 480V.
• Inspect and test fire alarm and life-safety systems.
• Read blueprints and schematics to determine wiring layouts.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Respond to emergencies and work during off-hours as needed.
