Job summary
The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking an Electrician I to join the Facilities Management Department in Las Vegas. This role performs journey-level electrical work across installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, panels, and controls.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairs, installations, load calculations, code compliance, inspections, and safety protocols while coordinating with other trades and inspectors across CSN campuses.
Qualifications
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent experience
- Valid Class C driver's license preferred
- Journeyman license or state credential preferred
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in complex electrical systems using testing equipment
- Repair faulty switches, receptacles, circuit breakers, and lighting fixtures to restore power
- Install electrical conduit, bend and thread piping, and wire motors, generators, and transformers
- Perform load calculations and sizing to prevent overloading
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA70E, and state regulations
