Job summary

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking an Electrician I in its Facilities Management Department. You will perform journey-level electrical work, including installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of electrical systems and controls across campus facilities.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting faults with advanced testing equipment, ensuring NEC/NFPA 70E compliance, and coordinating with campus teams and inspectors.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent education/experience

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in complex electrical systems using advanced testing equipment
• Repair or replace faulty components to restore power and minimize downtime
• Install electrical conduit, wiring, and connect motors, generators, and transformers
• Perform load calculations and ensure proper wire sizing and NEC compliance
• Inspect systems for code violations and safety hazards
• Follow OSHA PPE rules and Lockout/Tagout procedures
• Read blueprints and diagrams to trace circuits and plan installations
• Maintain tools and report low material stock
• Document work and track time/materials in the work order system
• Coordinate with facility managers and inspectors to complete projects
