Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an Electrician at the Devens, MA campus to monitor and maintain HVAC and electrical systems across biologics manufacturing and development operations. Responsibilities span installation, repairs, and data capture for maintenance work orders, with cross-training and strong safety practices.

The role requires an electrical/HVAC license, OSHA knowledge, and ability to work in tight spaces and at heights.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, state equivalent, or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of related trade schooling or equivalent, preferred.
• Electrical and/or HVAC License required
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports
• Familiar with computer equipment and programs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder up to 28’, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment, and operate a motor vehicle
• Ability to work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.
• Ability to work on roofs of buildings – able to safely perform overhead work while standing on a ladder
• Demonstrated ability to manage across functional lines and deliver results in a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, and ventilating and hot water heaters; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Record readings and make adjustments where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Assist with the installation and repair plumbing/piping/tubing; wire single and three phase motors (single & two speed)
• Troubleshoot customer service calls for temperature control inside our buildings.
• Partner with SME & Reliability services to trouble operational issues.
• Ensures that all appropriate R&M data is captured on a work order.
• Support of operations at the BMS Devens campus: Biologics Large Scale Commercial Manufacturing, Biologics Clinical Manufacturing, Biologics Cell Bank Manufacturing, Biologics Development and Laboratory operations, CAR-T Manufacturing.
• Review and analyze system data and develop initial recommendations with Reliability Manager and/or Operations Manager on maintenance changes, upgrades, replacements, etc.
• Cross train and / or back up, as appropriate to the advanced level.
• Maintain up to date and complete system documentation in a central resource location for all repairs or changes to the system.
