Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Hampton is seeking a Facilities Electrical Engineer to support the plant with electrical and automation projects. This role reports to the Facility Engineering Team Leader and focuses on delivering manufacturing excellence through engineering services and project management.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 5 years of experience with power distribution, PLCs, HMIs, and database systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with electrical systems such as power distribution, PLCs, HMIs, and database systems.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.
  • Export-controlled data access requirements apply.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the electrical and controls scope of process improvement, capital expansion, and obsolescence mitigation projects.
  • Coordinate all phases of assigned projects from concept to final start-up and project closure.
  • Assist production and maintenance with equipment and process issues from an engineering perspective focusing on reliability and productivity.
  • Provide higher-level support for PLC, HMI, and Robotic systems and programming for PLC/SCADA/Database systems.
  • Maintain accurate records for all automation programs and changes.
  • Propose and execute improvements to existing automation systems and processes.
