Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. seeks an Experienced Facilities Electrical Project Engineer in Hampton, VA, to support production, maintenance, and administrative departments.

You will manage electrical and control projects, coordinate from concept to startup, and ensure safety and reliability across plant facilities. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 2 years of experience with power distribution, PLCs, HMIs, and databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with electrical systems (power distribution, PLCs, HMIs, and database systems).
• Authorized to work in the United States; export-controlled data restrictions apply.

Responsibilities

• Manage the electrical and controls scope of process improvement, capital expansion, and obsolescence mitigation projects.
• Coordinate all phases from concept, scope development, bid solicitations, engineering/design, through installation and project closure.
• Assist production and maintenance with equipment/process issues from an engineering perspective, focusing on reliability and productivity.
• Provide higher-level support for PLC, HMI, and Robotic systems and programming for PLC/SCADA/Database Systems.
• Maintain accurate records for all automation programs and changes to these systems.
• Propose and execute improvements to existing automation systems and processes.
• Focus on safety of facilities equipment and processes, including EHS policy oversight.
• Oversee contractor work and compliance with company and regulatory policies.
