Facilities Electrical Engineer

The Facilities Electrical Project Engineer will report directly to the Facility Engineering Team Leader. This position provides technical engineering services and project management to support production, maintenance, and administrative departments in achieving the location’s business plan.

Responsibilities include:

1. Manage the electrical and controls scope of process improvement, capital expansion, and obsolescence mitigation projects.
2. Coordinate all phases of assigned projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, related bid meetings, equipment and facilities engineering/design, manufacturing, and installation through final start-up, acceptance, and project closure.
3. Assist production and maintenance with various types of equipment and process issues from an engineering perspective, focusing on maintaining and improving reliability and productivity of systems with specialized technical expertise in automation technology for plant facilities and processes.
4. Provide support for all PLC, HMI, and Robotic systems and programming for all PLC/Scada/Database Systems.
5. Maintain accurate records for all automation programs and changes.
6. Propose and execute improvements to existing automation systems and processes.
7. Focus on overall safety of facilities equipment and processes, including responsibility and oversight of EHS policies.
8. Oversee contractor work and compliance with Howmet Aerospace, Federal/State, Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.

• Frequent sitting/standing and reaching with hands and arms; using hands and fingers to manipulate objects.
• Regular talking or hearing.
• Standing, walking, sitting; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and working on various platforms and heights.
• Occasional lifting/moving up to 50 pounds; regularly up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Position may require occasional travel by car or plane, with duties performed in various settings.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with electrical systems such as power distribution, PLCs, HMIs, and database systems.
• Experience in project management within a team-based environment.
• Ability to provide documentation establishing identity and employment eligibility in the U.S.
• Access to export-controlled items, with lawful access required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
• Programming skills in Allen Bradley/ControlLogix/Modicon PLC systems.
• Experience with Wonderware, SQL, HMI/SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and electrical safety codes.
• Proficiency in ACAD/Inventor.
