Job summary

Avamere at Hermiston is seeking a Maintenance Director to lead the maintenance department across a skilled nursing and assisted living campus. You will oversee staff, contractors, and preventive maintenance programs to keep all systems safe and compliant.

Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, coordinating repairs, and ensuring life-safety equipment and building systems meet OSHA and local codes. A passion for resident comfort and a calm, professional leadership style are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building maintenance leadership in senior living or similar facilities.
• Knowledge of boilers, generators, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand building codes and safety regs.
• Commitment to confidentiality and providing a warm, professional environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance operations and supervise staff and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and company policies for safety.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and address emergencies promptly.
• Maintain records and manage the department budget and inventory.
