Job summary

Central Presbyterian Church in Manhattan is seeking a Director of Facilities to manage all facility operations, supervise staff, vendors, and contractors, and ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.

You will maintain historic property at 593 Park Avenue, oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety, and CMMS systems, and lead preventive maintenance and budgeting to support church programs.

Qualifications

• Ten years of experience in property/facilities management preferred.
• Strong project management, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Hands-on approach to facility management.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems mandatory.
• Experience using CMMS, BMS, MS Office or Gmail Suite mandatory.
• Experience interacting with city agencies (DOB, NYCFD, DOH, NYPD) as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper functioning of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety).
• Develop preventive maintenance programs and manage CMMS data.
• Oversee safety, security, and compliance protocols.
• Plan and supervise facilities staff, vendors, and contractors.
• Prepare annual and long-term facilities budgets and track invoices.
• Lead after-hours and emergency response for facility needs.
