Job summary

Phoenix Senior Living’s The Retreat at Beaufort is seeking a Facilities Director to join their team, reporting to the Executive Director.

You will lead maintenance, HVAC, electrical and life-safety programs, supervise staff, coordinate with vendors and consultants, manage budgets and safety compliance, and ensure operations support resident care and quality of life.

This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving and the ability to respond to emergencies outside regular hours.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years supervisory/management experience including hiring staff and coaching.
• Three (3) years facilities experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance.
• Valid Driver's License (if Applicable).
• Certification may be required per state.
• Experience preferred in maintaining water heat source pumps.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, develops and leads facilities management operations including maintenance, housekeeping, laundry and security.
• Oversees minor repairs and coordinates emergency responses; liaises with Executive Director and external vendors.
• Monitors maintenance logs and building facade condition; ensures timely responses.
• Coordinates consultants, contractors and Phoenix resources for large projects.
• Oversees paint, furniture moves and material transportation as needed.
• Manages HVAC system to maintain air quality and comfort; oversees fire protection system tests and documentation.
• Reviews monthly financial statements and implements actions for deficiencies; processes monthly expenses.
• Trains regional staff on utility shut-offs, emergency protocols, chemical handling, housekeeping, laundry and security.
• Leads department staffing: recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and discipline; oversees timekeeping and payroll.
