Job summary

Nimble is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead the operation and maintenance of school buildings and grounds. You will supervise custodial and maintenance staff, coordinate procurement, and ensure safety and budget compliance.

You will monitor daily operations, plan preventive maintenance, and respond to emergencies. Strong leadership and knowledge of building systems are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Facilities Management or related field (preferred). Broad experience in buildings and grounds maintenance.
• Broad knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
• Skill in the organization and supervision of maintenance and custodial staff.
• Ability to get along with people and promote leadership skills.
• Budgeting skills and knowledge of state statutes and regulations relating to buildings and grounds.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation and maintenance of all school buildings and grounds.
• Monitor daily operations and recommend improvements.
• Assist in purchasing and inspection of operating supplies and materials related to buildings and grounds.
• Interviews and recommendations for employment of school plant operating and maintenance personnel and retention/dismissal decisions.
• Assist with custodial services, including monthly visits and supervision with principals.
• Oversee maintenance services: approve work orders, assign tasks, monitor completion, and plan preventive maintenance.
• Assist with effective procedures for receipt, storage, and security of maintenance and custodial supplies and equipment.
• Prepare facilities for events (football playoffs, 4th of July, graduation).
• Keep records and submit reports for OSHA; develop compensation and fringe benefits for maintenance staff.
• Maintain records for buildings, grounds, and construction projects; provide cost data and statistics.
• Respond to emergency calls related to buildings; coordinate with police if needed.
• Assist with snow removal and winter salting.
• Attend School Board meetings when directed by Superintendent.
• Routinely meet with administrators to set maintenance priorities.
