Note: This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel may be required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Operations Management: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure seamless facility operations and regulatory compliance.
- Team Oversight & Development: Lead, train, and support a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Security & Compliance: Enforce all security protocols, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Cross-Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to align operational goals and services.
- Financial & Resource Management: Oversee budget, staffing, supplies, and equipment to maximize efficiency.
- Inmate Support & Rehabilitation Programs: Implement educational, vocational, and recreational programs to enhance the well-being of those in custody.
- Incident Response & Risk Mitigation: Investigate incidents, enforce disciplinary actions, and maintain a proactive security strategy.
- Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed of evolving legal and policy changes affecting detention facility operations.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field OR 15+ years of significant military or corrections experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of administrative leadership experience managing secure detention or correctional facilities.
- Equivalent experience through a career development program (work-related experience, training, or college credits) will be considered.
- Industry Knowledge & Leadership:
- Extensive understanding of detention/correctional facility management, security protocols, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in high-pressure environments, ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
- Critical Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex challenges and make critical decisions in high-stakes situations.
- Strong grasp of rehabilitation and treatment programs within secure facilities.
- Clearance & Compliance:
- Clean criminal background check, favorable credit check, and no prior drug use.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment.
- Work Flexibility:
- Ability to work full-time hours, including weekends and holidays.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
- Work is typically performed in an interior/office environment.
- Prolonged sitting and standing may be involved.
