BASIC FUNCTION:

The Facilities Development Project Coordinator will Lead, coordinate, monitor, and schedule the work of staff and consultants for school building programs and modernization projects and in the preparation of plans, specifications, and calculations for all design work to ensure compliance with district policies and school bond contracts and requirements for the public construction bidding and subsequent project construction administration process.

VACANCY / POSITION SPECIFICS:

  • Working Location: Facilities Planning & Construction, 4860 Ruffner Street, San Diego, CA 92111-1522.
  • The District covers a large portion of San Diego County. Refer to the District Area Map at this Link and make sure to identify any and all specific area(s) you are interested in working in. The area(s) you identify in your application will be used for any future vacancies filled using the eligibility list from this recruitment.
  • School/Department Website: Facilities Planning & Construction
  • Work Schedule: 12 months per year / 40 hours per week.
  • Salary: This position is paid on the OTBS Salary Schedule. Grade 064. To view the Salary Schedule, click here.
  • Positions 20 hours per week or greater qualify for District-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.
  • Vacancies that require the incumbent to be bilingual will be noted. Candidates considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.

This is a PROMOTIONAL/OPEN opportunity, which means that current monthly salaried employees receive precedence over other candidates on the eligible list. For a promotional/open posting, the top ten internal candidates will be provided unless there is an insufficient number of internal candidates and then the list will be supplemented with the top external candidates to make up the list of ten (Employment Regulations for the Classified Service of the San Diego Unified School District: Article IV, Section 9).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

A combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to graduation from a recognized college or university with a major in architecture, building engineering, or related field and eight years of progressively responsible experience in architecture or engineering with an emphasis on building construction.
