Job summary

The Hall County Library System is hiring a part-time delivery technician/courier to provide delivery service to library branches and assist the Facilities Manager.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, push a cart up to 100 pounds, and a valid Georgia driver's license with a clean driving record. Evening and weekend shifts are possible; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must complete Defensive Driving Training as required by Hall County Government.
• Preference given to applicants with a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Lifts and moves boxes and other heavy items.
• Delivers boxes and other heavy items to various libraries in the system.
• May be requested to run a delivery outside the county.
• Assists Facilities Manager with general maintenance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills

Ability to push a cart up to 100 lbs

Valid Georgia driver's license

Superior driving record

Job description

Entry level pay is $12.11 an hour. Starting pay is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Optional participation in the Flexible Benefits Plan of Georgia.

Three paid holidays per year (18-hour position.)

Participation in the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia, prorated paid holidays, annual and sick leave (24-hour position.)

The Hall County Library System is hiring a part-time (18 hour) and 24 hour-week delivery technician/courier. This position provides delivery service to library branches and provides other support as needed to the Facilities Manager. Reports to Facilities Manager.

Examples of Work

• Lifts and moves boxes and other heavy items.
• Delivers boxes and other heavy items to various libraries in the system.
• May be requested to run a delivery outside the county.
• Assists Facilities Manager with general maintenance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

• Subject to evening and weekend assignments.

Staff Development Requirements

• Completes 10 contact hours of continuing education per year.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to push a cart with up to 100 pounds on it.
• The successful candidate must have a superior driving record and the ability to lift 30 pounds at one time on an ongoing basis.
• Must have and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Required Education, Training, Experience
