Job summary

The Salvation Army in Chicago is seeking a Custodian to perform cleaning duties, maintain restrooms, and help with room setup for corps activities. You will work under the Corps Officers and collaborate with community service workers to prepare the building for programs.

Qualifications

• High School education or its equivalent preferred.
• Basic experience in maintenance and knowledge of related tools and equipment.
• Valid Driver’s license/MVR clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the entire building cleaning including offices and Chapel; vacuum carpets and mop floors.
• Attend to bathrooms, restock towels, toilet paper and soap; clean countertops.
• Set up classrooms and rooms for activities; assist with program preparations.
• Inspect building and replace bulbs; remove cobwebs as needed.
• Operate with building security and work with Community Service Workers for programs.
