Job summary

Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority seeks a part-time Janitor – Nimmer to maintain cleanliness across facilities and support minor maintenance tasks. The role reports to the Property Manager and requires reliable attendance, safety awareness, and teamwork.

Typical duties include floor care, carpet care, door/window cleaning, and assisting with tenant move-ins. Valid Ohio driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of custodial and general building maintenance methods and safety practices.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively; follow written and oral instructions.
• Able to identify cleaning, supply and equipment needs and solve related problems.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning tasks: mops, sweeps, vacuums, dusts, washes surfaces and empties trash.
• Performs minor maintenance and grounds-keeping duties like changing bulbs, hanging items, mowing, painting lines and snow removal.
• Responds to emergency calls and assists with site readiness for inspections.
