Job summary

Winona County in Minnesota is seeking a Full Time Custodian/Maintenance worker to perform custodial, grounds, and minor maintenance tasks across County facilities. The role involves indoor and outdoor work, safety compliance, and potential coordination with contractors.

The position starts at $23.31/hour with advancement to $29.92/hour and a 3% COLA planned for 2027. The shift is First (Day); on-site work; a background check and respirator medical qualification are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience in custodial services or related training.
• Two years custodial/building maintenance experience is highly desired.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one before hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, windows, and common areas.
• Perform grounds maintenance: snow removal, mowing, landscaping, and related tasks.
• Perform minor maintenance: repair doors/locks, change light bulbs, simple plumbing, equipment startup/shutdown.
• Assist in County Safety program and safety drills.
• Other duties as assigned.
