FareStart in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Custodial Maintenance Worker to handle daily janitorial duties and maintenance. The role allocates 60% to janitorial tasks and 40% to maintenance work, including HVAC inspection, basic repairs, and pest-control coordination.

The candidate will maintain a clean, safe facility at 700 Virginia St., support office and kitchen areas, and collaborate with the Facilities Manager on projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and two or more years of related custodial and maintenance experience.
• Familiarity with manual and electrical tools, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC and building systems.
• Basic computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office; ability to use databases and search the internet.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaborative work across diverse teams; flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily custodial tasks including cleaning, trash, recycling, and restroom upkeep.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as plumbing/electrical work, lighting, and minor repairs.
• Maintain appearance of the building exterior and interior; respond to maintenance tickets.
• Oversee pest control in collaboration with Facilities Manager and manage inventory.
• Assist with moving furniture, coordinating with vendors, and supporting building monitoring systems.
