Job summary

The Jewish Community Campus in Overland Park is seeking a Facilities Custodian to perform basic building upkeep, including trash pickup, room set-ups, light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting and exterior maintenance.

This full-time role follows a Sunday-Thursday schedule with shifts such as 1:30pm-10:00pm and Sunday 8:00-4:30; the position offers benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, paid time off, a 403b retirement plan with employer

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years of experience in commercial building maintenance that includes proficiency in light plumbing, lighting, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting and cleaning. Pool maintenance experience is a plus.
• Able to work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and carry up to 90 feet.
• Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to use common workplace technology such as email, internet, software, etc.
• Able to work schedule and be flexible when changes and/or overtime are required.

Responsibilities

• Plumbing maintenance including sinks, showers, toilets, urinals, etc.
• Lighting and electrical maintenance including changing ballasts, bulbs, outlets.
• Carpentry, drywall, mudding, painting and wallpapering.
• Install and maintain drop ceiling tiles.
• Outdoor Grounds maintenance, as needed like trash pick up, salt application, snow removal and more.
• Assist with room set‑ups and tear‑downs and general clean‑up.
• Cleaning and maintenance of equipment in commercial kitchens.
• Interior trash pick‑up and other cleaning as needed.
• Ability to assist Building Engineer as needed.
• Other duties assigned.
