Job summary

The J is seeking a Facilities Custodian to perform basic building upkeep at the Jewish Community Campus in Overland Park. The role covers plumbing, lighting, carpentry, drywall, painting and general maintenance for a 290,000 sq ft campus serving nine agencies.

Schedule is full-time with Sunday-Thursday shifts, including 1:30pm–10:00pm and some Sundays; benefits include health and retirement plans, paid time off, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years of experience in commercial building maintenance including plumbing, lighting, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting and cleaning.
• Pool maintenance experience is a plus.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing maintenance including sinks, showers and toilets.
• Maintain lighting and electrical systems, replace ballasts and bulbs.
• Do carpentry, drywall repair, mudding, painting and wallpapering.
• Install and maintain drop ceiling tiles.
• Maintain outdoor grounds and assist with event setups and teardown.
• Clean and maintain equipment in commercial kitchens.
• Handle interior trash pickup and general cleanup as needed.
• Support Building Engineer as required.
• Other duties assigned.
