Job summary

Goodwill San Antonio is seeking a Maintenance/Custodial team member to support daily cleaning tasks and floor care across facilities. The role emphasizes environmental stewardship and community impact while maintaining a clean, safe workplace for staff and visitors.

You will perform floor stripping, waxing, carpet shampooing, window cleaning, and blinds removal, following safety procedures and loss prevention policies. This is a hands-on, indoor position with steady hours.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in a commercial cleaning environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized, detail oriented, with ability to analyze situations for conflict resolution.
• Basic cleaning methods, floor stripping/waxing, chemical usage; operate buffers and carpet extractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor finish removal (stripping) and wax application following procedures.
• Shampoo carpet and remove stains/discoloration as needed.
• Clean exterior window surfaces and remove film, dirt and smudges.
• Remove, wash and replace Venetian blinds; perform dry/spray buffing.
• Maintain safety and loss prevention policies; report irregularities promptly.
