Job summary

The City of Yuma is seeking a Custodian to join the Department of Facilities Management. The successful candidate will perform custodial and janitorial duties in City facilities under supervision.

Essential tasks include cleaning, restroom sanitation, floor care, and event setup. A valid Arizona driver's license is required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred, with janitorial experience desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; one year of janitorial experience is preferred.

• Ability to lift and move objects, and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs custodial and janitorial duties including routine cleaning, restroom sanitation, floor care, and trash disposal.
• Follows safety rules to minimize accidents and ensures facility safety.
• Cleans spills promptly and maintains clean woodwork, walls, windows and floors.
• Moves furniture and equipment for events and setups; reports hazards and issues.
• Maintains confidentiality and supports public interactions with courtesy.
