Job summary

City of Florida City is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and the welcoming appearance of city buildings. You will clean offices, restrooms, meeting rooms, and public areas while following safety procedures.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent), a valid Florida driver's license, and be able to pass a background check. Prior custodial experience is preferred but not required; reliable attendance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Valid Florida driver's license.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and safely handle cleaning products.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work assigned shifts.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors.
• Dust furniture, clean windows, and sanitize surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and common areas.
• Collect, lift, and dispose of trash and recycling.
• Lift and carry cleaning supplies, equipment, and trash bags.
• Push and pull cleaning carts, floor machines, and other equipment.
