Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–2 years related experience.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Read and comprehend MSDS sheets for potentially hazardous chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors using sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums.
• Spot shampoo rugs and carpets.
• Empty trash and recycling.
• Dust all surfaces.
• Order janitorial supplies as needed.
• Wash windows.
• Operate commercial vacuums and carpet cleaners.
• Stand and walk for long periods; lift up to 25 pounds; may lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Follow safety rules and city policies.
• Notify supervisor for repairs at city facilities.
• Respond to emergencies and bio-hazard spills.
• Follow MSDS and safety rules.
• Follow security procedures to lock/unlock buildings.
