Job summary

Montana State University Billings is seeking a Custodian I to provide cleaning and maintenance for interiors, focusing on floors, restrooms, and supply restocking. The role includes locking/unlocking buildings and supporting campus cleanliness.

The position is classified hourly with benefits; open date 10/23/2026 and close date 11/06/2026. One year of custodial experience is preferred; HS graduate or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills are required.
• Knowledge of cleaning practices and safety protocols.
• Experience with cleaning machines and chemical handling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrubbing, mopping, stripping, waxing, disinfecting, and polishing hard surface floors
• Vacuuming, spotting, and extracting carpeted floors
• Dusting and polishing furniture and horizontal surfaces
• Washing interior windows, entrance glass, and mirrors; clean restrooms
• Replacing light bulbs and maintaining cleanliness of classrooms and hallways
• Removing trash and restocking supplies
• Cleaning Residence Halls and Student Family Housing units
