Job summary

Shreveport Job Corps Center is seeking a Custodian to support grounds keeping, landscaping and custodial duties at the center in Shreveport, LA. The role includes routine cleaning, snow and trash management, and minor maintenance tasks under supervision.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and CPR/First Aid certifications. The incumbent will follow safety protocols and promote a clean, safe environment for staff, trainees, and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the Maintenance Program initiatives and functions.
• Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures confidentiality and no manipulation of information/data.
• Cleans grounds: cuts grass, trims shrubbery, plants and waters flowers, snow removal and safety duties.
• Cleans all areas of the center, indoors and outdoors, as needed.
• Empties trash containers and keeps areas clean and debris-free.
• Performs custodial duties and minor maintenance as assigned.
• Strips, cleans and waxes floors; moves furniture and equipment; supervises Work-based Learning trainees and other duties as assigned.
• Maintains a safe work environment and ensures proper equipment use; adherence to safety procedures by staff, students and visitors.
