Job summary

Vernon County is seeking a Custodian to maintain its buildings in a clean, safe, and well-functioning condition. The role requires initiative, reliability, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

You will support the Buildings and Facilities department and help ensure a safe environment for residents and staff. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, some technical training, and 1–2 years of related work.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited high school or GED required.
• Prefer advanced training at a technical school and one to two years of related work experience (electrical, plumbing, carpentry).

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains floors, windows, walls, and fixtures.
• Maintains entrances, sidewalks, and public areas in clean condition.
• Operates custodial and maintenance equipment safely and properly.
• Assists in building security by checking doors and lights.
