Job summary

Hamilton County is hiring a custodial worker responsible for cleaning and maintaining facilities. The role includes a variety of tasks from sweeping and mopping to carpet care and restocking restrooms. You will operate cleaning equipment and assist with basic maintenance.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of custodial experience, with the ability to perform physical labor in different weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year semi-skilled custodial work experience or equivalent.
• Demonstrable ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor over extended periods, under adverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled custodial tasks to keep buildings and grounds clean and safe.
• Maintains supply inventory and required records; attends required trainings and meetings.
• Operates custodial equipment (vacuum, buffer, scrubber, snow blower) and uses cleaning agents as needed.
• Performs routine maintenance and repair tasks and assists maintenance staff as required.
• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; may cover for co-workers as needed.
