Job summary

The Colorado Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (DMVA) - Ft. Carson Regional Training Institute, Colorado Springs, is seeking a Custodian I to perform custodial duties and minor maintenance to keep facilities healthy, safe and sanitary.

The role runs Friday–Monday, 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with a four‑day, ten‑hour schedule; you will clean offices, restrooms, floors, and common areas, restock supplies, perform light repairs, and follow OSHA safety rules.

Qualifications

• Six months of relevant custodial experience including OSHA hazmat safety standards.
• Willing to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Able to read and understand cleaning chemical labels and usage instructions.
• Willing to perform strenuous labor and a four‑day, ten‑hour schedule.
• Must possess and maintain a current State of Colorado Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, meeting rooms, and common areas.
• Mop tile and concrete floors; vacuum carpeted areas.
• Disinfect washrooms, mirrors, and fixtures; restock supplies.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Ensure safe storage and handling of cleaning materials and supplies.
• Report damages, theft, and repairs.
