Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Custodian to perform general custodial work and routine cleaning across our facilities. You will help maintain clean indoor and outdoor areas while supporting guest service and safety.

Responsibilities include scheduled janitorial work, after-hours tasks once a month, restroom stocking, trash removal, and readiness to respond to emergencies. Must be able to stand long periods and lift at least 25 lbs; CPR/First Aid certification is required within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building repairs such as painting wall patching, striping, and buffing floors and minor plumbing repairs
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and drive a small utility cart
• fingerprinting requirement for YMCA staff prior to reporting to work and background checks as applicable
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification must include Adult and Child/Infant within 30 days of hire from acceptable organizations

Responsibilities

• Perform all scheduled janitorial tasks throughout all buildings
• Perform detailed janitorial tasks during closing hours one evening per month
• Ensure all restroom dispensers are adequately stocked at all times
• Perform daily trash pick-up throughout the facility
• Provide courteous and helpful service to guests at all times
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
• Physical ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
• Other duties as assigned
