Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking a full-time custodian to perform essential custodial tasks, maintain facilities, and prepare rooms for students and guests, including event setups using provided diagrams.

This hourly, benefits-eligible role requires knowledge of cleaning techniques, reading floor plans, strong time management, reliability, and a valid driver's license. You will work with a cooperative team to keep spaces clean, safe, and ready for daily use.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret floor plans and accurately execute event diagrams.
• Strong time management and attendance.
• Valid driver's license and driving record.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain and disinfect interior and exterior components.
• Inspect, operate and maintain equipment.
• Move and reset furniture for events per diagrams and instructions.
• Follow protocols for safety and bloodborne pathogen cleanup.
• Sort waste and ensure correct bins and signage for recycling.
• Inspect building components and safety devices.
• Use and restock supplies responsibly.
• Collaborate with team and supervisors; perform other duties as needed.
